Just Once Around the Block, Please?!?!?

This is Chloe's new thing....whenever we go out to the garage to go somewhere, she trots out like one of us and waits for someone to open a door so she can hop in! She goes straight to the back of my truck and waits until we leave, then she moves to the back seat and hangs her head out the window (regardless of who she steps on to get to it...in this case, Hayley!). We have to drive her once around the block, then she is done and goes back into the house! Yes, we have a very weird dog....and okay, possibly a little bit spoiled!!

Everybody was Kung Fu Fightin'

Last Friday, Sydney went on her last movie date with her teacher. Since there was no school, the other girls and I decided to tag along. We saw Kung Fu Panda....it was too funny!! I didn't realize it was opening day until that morning, so the line was really long and the theater was packed!! I usually make it a point NOT to see a movie on opening day/weekend, but this makes the second movie in two weeks, that I saw when it opened! What is up with that?!?! Anyway, it was a super cute movie, and we all liked it a lot!

Ready for Bed

This is Emyley's new bedtime attire. Think she is cozy enough??

The Last Day & Elephants

Well, the last day of school finally arrived!! We started out the morning with our last Colt RoundUp of this year. Sydney received the Principal's Award and was recognized for the many groups that she participated in this year!! YAY! She was also recognized for staying "blue" for her entire Minshew career! More YAY! Hayley was recognized for staying on "blue" all year, and they were both recognized for having had their leader badges all year long! Whew!

After RoundUp, Em & I headed to Hayley's class for her party. I was so glad that we went because her teacher presented each student with their folders of good stuff and a special award. Hayley was her class's Amazing Author! She wrote a wonderful story, and we will share it with you all soon! Em & I then popped in on Syd's party....which was way more low-key than Hayley's...LOL! Sydney wanted to stay for the whole day, but Hayley decided to come on home.

So, at 3, we all headed back up to the school to pick up Sydney and watch her, along with all of the 5th graders, take their "Elephant Walk"! It was really fun to see them walk the Minshew hallways for the last time.

When we got home with the report cards, both girls had earned all 4s! YAY!! And, I almost forgot, Sydney picked out the violin on Tuesday to play next year in Orchestra. What a crazy week we had! Summer, here we come!

So, sit back and enjoy another SHE Production - The Last Day of School!

Great Help is Easy to Find....When it Includes CAKE!

Emyley and I decided to help out with the Kindergarten reception this morning at the school. We, along with some of our friends, cut lots of cake, dished up lots of cake, and filled up lots of cups with punch! Emyley and her friend Lucas were AWESOME helpers putting forks in the cake and lining up the punch cups!

After all was over, they got to enjoy their own cake and punch! What a GREAT reward for two GREAT helpers!!! (Editor's Note: No camera AGAIN! These are from my phone!)

While the Girls are Away.....

....the parents will: eat where they want, go shopping without hearing "can I have" or "I want", relax in a very quiet house, play wii without fighting over whose turn it is, get hair colored & cut (Steph), sleep 'til noon (Bill) and most importantly go see an R rated movie...wait for it...in the theater! LOL!

Seriously, our girls spent the weekend in Okla with my parents so they could go to a Missionette Retreat with my mom. They had a ball, and we have had a relaxing and quiet weekend.

The movie we saw was "The Strangers" with Liv Tyler & Scott Speedman. It was pretty creepy, if not a tad predictable. I think Bill and I were just glad to have a date. Our last one was 2 or 3 years ago, so this was nice!

Thanks Mom and Dad!!!
