Fun with Emyley

Sydney and Hayley got to go to church camp this summer, so Emyley and I decided to have a little fun, too. On Monday, we went to the movies and saw Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in 3D. She loved it, and I thought it was pretty cute, too.

Tuesday, we went to Amazing Jake's. We played mini golf, bumper cars, bowling and arcade games. I won 200 tickets on Deal or No Deal! LOL!!

Wednesday, we went to Walls of Clay in McKinney. Emyley painted a dog and I painted an Americana salad plate. I really enjoyed this and wish I had more time to do it again! LOL! Oh, we also had a girl's lunch at Olive Garden (Em's choice) and did some shopping at Half Price Books then dessert at La Madeleine.

It was a very fun time with my "baby"!! I am glad we got to spend some quality time together!

Bon Voyage

Bill and I have moved around a lot since being married. He joined the Navy and we had 3 duty stations in 4 years. The longest we stayed in one place during that time was two and a half years in Virginia Beach. After leaving the Navy we spent a couple years in Plano, and then we found McKinney. We truly found a place that we all enjoyed and made many friendships in the 8 years that we lived there. So, you can understand why it was so difficult for us to leave. And it just wouldn't be a proper send off, if we didn't have a party. So, we arranged a little bon voyage party at Minshew's park where the kids could play and the adults could visit one last time. :o( We will miss all of our McKinney friends!!!

Video notes: Yes, Emyley was there...just too busy for pictures. I totally missed getting tons of pictures because I was having too much fun!

Revenge of the Nerds??

No, it's just the photo shoot the girls did for Bill's father's day present this year. He wanted this picture frame from Target that looks like computer memory. I had the girls dress up in nerd wear and put a picture of them in the frame. But it was so hard picking just one picture. So, here's the montage of them all....

House Inspection = Girl's Day Out!

When we got the call that we were having our house inspected for the sale, I immediately wondered what to do with the pets. When we were showing our house, we put Willow and Chloe in kennels and in the garage. But we knew the inspector would need to be in every room of our house, including the garage and that it would take a few hours. So, the girls and I thought it out and decided it would be a spa day for all! The dogs went to the Dog Den and the girls went to the mall for haircuts and then a nail spa for manicures. It was a lot of fun...even though Hayley left her purse and cell phone at the mall (never to be seen again).

Gavin

After the party on Saturday night, we got to go to Steve and Keri's house and hang out with Gavin and Grace! It is hard to believe that Gavin is 1 today! He is such a cutie! Grace is growing up, too and is such a sweet little girl! We missed Gunter this trip, but hopefully we will get to see him soon!

Happy Birthday, Steve!

Bill's brother Steve recently celebrated his 40th birthday. His wife Keri threw him a small suprise party at the Downstream Casino near where they live. Bill and I were excited to actually get a grown up night out! The bonus was getting to spend time with Steve and Keri, too!!

House for Sale

Never, when we were building/buying our house, did I intend to be selling it so soon! But with the economy the way it is and Bill's job now in OKC, we didn't have much choice. I began early in the summer packing up the clutter/closets and sending it up to storage. I touched up paint where I could and kilz-ed all the artwork on the walls. We asked my friend, Cheryl, who had just signed on with Ebby to be our agent. She walked through a few times and helped us with things to do to make our house more appealing. We listed the house officially on June 20. The next day, we had a showing and an offer! After deliberating, negotiating and more showings, we opted to take the offer and signed all the paperwork by the end of the month. We certainly didn't think it would all go so smoothly or so fast. Now it's time for the hard part....packing it all up and moving it out by July 30...our 15 yr wedding anniversary!
